Pupil Voice

School Council

The School Council consists of  two elected representatives from each class, Year 1 – Year 6. It is a pupil-led organisation and is supported by a member of staff. The Council meets to discuss issues that affect the whole school and decide, democratically, what they can do to solve a problem, help others, and improve the school.

  • Fundraising
  • Pupil surveys
  • Organising school events
  • Improving school resources

Councillors will then be responsible for recording and reporting their discussions and decisions to their class.

Junior Leaders

Pupils in Year 6 take responsibility for a range of areas in school. They are able to take an active role in the leading of school life, represent the school, support and help others and develop independence and responsibility.

House Teams

Our House Team system allows additional opportunities for all our pupils to participate in wider school activities that mix age groups, skills and interests. This allows our pupils to participate in wider school events, be creative, collaborate and contribute to school life. Our cross-peer approach means that pupils learn from each other, become role models and have a strong, purposeful voice in life at Sulivan.

All House events promote teamwork, independence and healthy competition. Children can earn house points for demonstrating school and British values and effort in learning.  Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to apply for roles of responsibility and we appoint House Captains and Sports Captains to lead and support their House, be visible role models and promote our school values.
