Class Information Nursery In Nursery children explore all areas of the curriculum through play and guided learning with expert Early Years teachers. Reception In Reception children learn through independent play and more frequent teacher-led sessions. They have full access to the outdoor classroom and countless open-ended challenges in all areas of the curriculum Year 1 In Year 1 children enjoy the KS1 curriculum, full of new learning, awe and wonder. They learn as a whole class and are carefully guided by teachers in small groups for English and Maths. They visit the library and a picnic in the park. Year 2 In Year 2 children enjoy further challenges in core subjects, develop confidence in arithmetic, reading and writing. They enjoy mathematical challenges and more complex reading texts. They also love the visit to the zoo and a wider range of sports. Year 3 In Year 3 children advance to Key Stage 2 and a new curriculum. They enjoy new topics and team sports as well as challenges in reading, writing and maths. Year 4 In Year 4 children enjoy their Roman Britain topic as well as a challenging core curriculum. They have many opportunities to take part in choir performances and sports’ competitions. Year 5 In Year 5 children benefit from the challenges of the upper Key Stage 2 curriculum as well as a variety of extra- curricular activities. Year 6 Year 6 is the final year of Sulivan. Children enjoy preparing for secondary school, learn from a full and varied curriculum and look forward to their residential trip.
