Great art grows at Sulivan

Children at Sulivan have been inspired by the old saying “From little acorns mighty oaks can grow” and we are learning that great things can start from even the smallest beginnings. Take a look to see how we grow together at Sulivan.

We decided to make some Giant Art as part of #HelloYellow Day to support Young Minds Mental Health Day. We know that being creative and part of a community are positive ways to have good wellbeing.

The artwork, entitled “Growing together at Sulivan” was created from sticks gathered from our garden and at home. We used them to make a giant outdoor art installation of a beautiful, unique tree. This idea “grew” from the work children have been doing in English using our Recovery Curriculum story, Stanley’s Stick. Every child and adult chose and decorated a stick and once we started to put them together, branches appeared and by the end of the day we had created our own Sulivan tree, standing tall and looking very beautiful. We are finding lots of new ways to work together as a community and next week we will be sharing our published stories with our Pen Pal class.
