Sulivan Primary School Has Announced A Proposal To Convert To An Academy.

The school’s Governing Body believes the best way forward for Sulivan in the fast-changing educational landscape is as part of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT).

After many months of discussion with other Governing Bodies, the proposal is to form a MAT along with Fulham Primary and Queen’s Manor Primary schools.

The proposed MAT would be supported by the educational expertise of the London Diocesan Board for Schools. All three schools would maintain their non-faith community school status.

The move comes as the Government recently announced plans for all schools in England to convert to Academy status by 2022.

In a letter to parents, Headteacher Wendy Aldridge and Chair of Governors Caroline Langton, state: “Our priority is to enable the school to continue to provide an excellent education for our children while protecting the school’s role at the heart of our community and retaining its unique qualities and strengths.”

A formal consultation with parents, carers, staff and the local community, will take place from Monday April 18th to Friday May 13th.

For full details of the proposal, see the Academy page of the website.
